However, there is a large multi-family housing development proposed on the St. Philip Neri campus that would include extensive demolition and repurposing of contributing structures. What is the demolition review and historic resources review for a process as large and intrusive as this for both the property owner and adjoining neighbors? 20:06:36 From michelle sprague-HAND : Heather, Henry has a question, he is in the Chat after Chris 20:07:52 From Heather Flint Chatto, RNA Land Use Chair : Henry - please ask your question next - thanks for your patience 20:08:56 From clayton williams : I have a question…What advantages does an owner of a historic designated property have. Most of these properties have significant structural issues. 20:20:19 From wendyrankin to Allen Field(Privately) : It would be really appreciated if we could move on to Ladd’s Addition. 20:21:56 From Rose Caudillo : if affordable housing is the goal why is there not rent control on every new development? 20:22:27 From Dawn : Thankyou! I came for these next slides. 20:27:02 From Barry NewDelman : If staff review is denied, what is the appeal process 20:27:40 From Peas : We are non-contributing. We share a garage with a contributing property. How is that considered? 20:28:04 From Peter Ritson he/him : why are the guidelines not under review. Staff has said they are subjective and hard to navigate as the are written 20:29:18 From Kimya N : Where may we reference these changes online? 20:30:47 From Heather Flint Chatto, RNA Land Use Chair : Kimya, and others - You can read the Historic Resource Code Project documents here: https://www.portland.gov/bps/hrcp 20:31:37 From Kimya N : Thanks for quick response;-) 20:31:41 From Rosanne Lynch : what if you have non historic windows on a street facing façade? 20:35:44 From Heather Flint Chatto, RNA Land Use Chair : In advance of the PSC Hearing, we'll be talking about this more at the Richmond Neighborhood Association Meeting on October 22nd 6:30-8:30 pm Register in advance for this meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwpdeysqzkjGNMnRPRHCMJJT2CMWepWPmpd After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. 20:37:34 From michelle sprague-HAND : the 500 feet in Ladd's, what happens if trimet switches the #10 to division? 20:38:16 From Dawn : Thanks. This was awesome! 20:45:23 From Robert Boyle (Ladd's Addition) : Hi, I live on SE Hemlock Ave & my house on map is coded yellow (non-contributing) vs my neighbors are blue (contributing). My home was built in 1923 and was completely renovated before I bought it by an architectural firm. Why wouldn't my house be contributing? What exactly does that mean? 20:45:46 From Linda Nettekoven : michele -- remember between the # 14 & the #2 buses most of Ladd's is included 20:47:26 From Christine Taylor : I would still love if Brandon could address my earlier question regarding the large housing complex proposed for St. Philip Neri. 20:48:04 From Peas : and shared garages between contributing and non-contributing properties 20:50:40 From Kim Pengelly : sorry, can you clarify what can happen with all the yellow properties in Ladd's? 20:51:33 From Heather Flint Chatto, RNA Land Use Chair : Richmond will also be talking about this at next Monday's RNA Meeting on the 12th at 6:30 pm. Amanda Fritz will be there and we encourage all to join us. You can register at https://richmondpdx.org/ We've also posted links to the Vintage Buildings Study on the Richmond Land Use Meetings Page: https://richmondpdx.org/lutcmeetings 20:55:07 From Peas : We will email you about the garage issue 20:59:42 From Christine Taylor : Wrong, Linda! The proposed Catholic Charities housing complex on the St. Philip Neri campus is a large-scale transformation of this historic district, and for everyone still here: both neighbors and the SPN parish adamantly oppose, including the new parish priest Father Andrew Thomas. This is a cash grab by Catholic Charities on a prime piece of SE Portland real estate. We will continue to fight this, despite the City giveaway of the local zoning statutes.
