STYROFOAM & STRETCH FILM: Green Century Recycling will collect the material. All material must be SORTED, CLEAN, and DRY, or it will not be accepted, and it MUST BE WITHOUT tape, labels, cardboard, laminate, staples, glue, ink, paint or food residue, or it will be rejected. Mixed foam/film will NOT be accepted:

$10 per 45 gal bag collected by Green Century. Price adjusted for small amounts of styrofoam.

• Block Styrofoam (#6 Polystyrene Grade A)

• EPS (#6 Expanded Polystyrene) - GRADE B, e.g., styrofoam cups, takeout containers and egg cartons

• Styrofoam packing peanuts

• LDPE Foam #4 (Polyethylene Foam)

• HDPE/LDPE - stretchy plastic film, e.g., bubble wrap, plastic & ziploc bags, packaging air-pillows, plastic over-wrapping

• NOT ACCEPTED items list

METRO will COllect (until bins are full):

• Household batteries: alkaline, rechargeable and lithium ion but NO cordless-tool batteries

• CFL (compact fluorescent bulbs) but NO broken bulbs, fluorescent tubes, LED or incandescent bulbs

• Sharps and epi-pens. Free sharps containers while supplies last

  NO cleaning supplies, paint, chemicals, automotive fluids

• >> METRO NO LONGER ACCEPTS MEDICATIONS.  Medications for disposal are handled by Oregon’s Drug Take-Back Program under Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Go to https://medtakebackoregon.org/to find a nearby location to drop off medications.
